Ken Lyons

President and CEO

Mr. Lyons has over 30 years of business experience, including employment with Northern Petro Chemical and Mobil Oil's Polymer Division. He has managed, established, and rebuilt offices in New York and Chicago and is considered a "Turn-around" specialist. He is particularly adept at marketing and technical sales.

In 1996, Mr. Lyons was team leader in Paris, France for a joint venture with one of Europe's largest OEM's, Plastic Omnium. The project entailed the development and marketing of resins for manufacturing plastic gas tanks. He was the first to hire women in field sales. His region led the company in sales for four consecutive years with sales in excess of $20 million dollars each year.

Mr. Lyons grew up in Alabama where he attended Tuskegee University. He excelled in finance, statistics, and marketing, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Mr. Lyons volunteered with Omaha Public Schools "Greeter" program for under privileged elementary school children. He Co-Chaired the fund raising efforts of Child Saving Institute for two years, both years garnering record breaking financial support for the agency.  He is on the faculty at University of Nebraska/Omaha in the prestigious College of Business Administration, where he teaches Business and Marketing classes. He was the President and CEO of LYMAC Plastic Products. In addition, Mr. Lyons worked as Vice President of First National Bank of Omaha where he spearheaded their community development efforts before leaving to join NeighborWorks Omaha as President and CEO.

Mr. Lyons has accepted the request from the Governor of Nebraska, Dave Heineman, to serve as a member of the Nebraska Commission on Housing and Homelessness. Ken serves as Chairman of the Housing Committee for the North Omaha Development Project (NODP), a $200 million dollar initiative targeting housing and economic growth and development in North Omaha, and also has been appointed to the Nebraska Housing Developers Association (NHDA) Board of Directors.
