President and CEO
Mr. Lyons has over 30 years of business experience,
including employment with Northern Petro Chemical and Mobil Oil's Polymer
Division. He has managed, established, and rebuilt offices in New York and
Chicago and is considered a "Turn-around" specialist. He is
particularly adept at marketing and technical sales.
In 1996, Mr. Lyons was team leader in Paris, France for a
joint venture with one of Europe's largest OEM's, Plastic Omnium. The project
entailed the development and marketing of resins for manufacturing plastic gas
tanks. He was the first to hire women in field sales. His region led the
company in sales for four consecutive years with sales in excess of $20 million
dollars each year.
Mr. Lyons grew up in Alabama where he attended Tuskegee
University. He excelled in finance, statistics, and marketing, and holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Lyons volunteered with Omaha Public Schools
"Greeter" program for under privileged elementary school children. He
Co-Chaired the fund raising efforts of Child Saving Institute for two years,
both years garnering record breaking financial support for the agency. He is on the faculty at University of
Nebraska/Omaha in the prestigious College of Business Administration, where he
teaches Business
and Marketing classes. He was the President and CEO of LYMAC Plastic
Products. In addition, Mr. Lyons worked as Vice President of First National
Bank of Omaha where he spearheaded their community development efforts before
leaving to join NeighborWorks Omaha as President and CEO.
Mr. Lyons has accepted the request
from the Governor of Nebraska, Dave Heineman, to serve as a member of the
Nebraska Commission on Housing and Homelessness. Ken serves as Chairman of the
Housing Committee for the North Omaha Development Project (NODP), a $200
million dollar initiative targeting housing and economic growth and development
in North Omaha, and also has been appointed to the Nebraska Housing Developers
Association (NHDA) Board of Directors.
